Award for twinning championbr/br/Denise Audouard, who has championed town twinning between Salford and the French town of St Ouen, was honoured at a ceremony at Ordsall Hall on Tuesday night (February 7th,2006).br/Denise has been a member of the twinning committee in St Ouen since it first linked up with the former Worsley Urban District Council in 1961. She has just retired as the committee’s chair after15 years.br/She became the first recipient of Salford’s International Friendship Medal, created by Councillor Derek Antrobus to honour those who have made a significant contribution to twinning.br/It was presented to Mme Audouard by the Mayor of Salford, Councillor James Hunt, in the presence of the Mayor of St Ouen, br/Steve Fletcher, chair of the Salford-St Ouen Twinning Association, outlined Mme Audouard’s achievements.br/He praised her work for the disabled in St Ouen and making sure twinning was open to all.
